Santa Barbara is proud to be the first to bring this romantic Italian festival to the western hemisphere from our sister festival in Grazie di Curtatone, Italy. The Festival, a beloved tradition in Santa Barbara, is also our primary fundraiser for Children’s Creative Project. By attending the I Madonnari Festival, you’re not just enjoying the festivities but also directly contributing to arts education programs in schools throughout the county.
The Santa Barbara I Madonnari Street Painting Festival offers a truly unique experience, where artists of all ages come together to create street paintings, ranging from classical to original images. This annual three-day festival, held on Memorial Day Weekend at the Old Mission Santa Barbara, is a sight to behold.

Will things change this year? There are signs that the real estate market will be improving. Mortgage rates have dropped to around 6.6%
Recently CAR reported that Americans are feeling more confident about the housing market at the beginning of 2024 as buyers and sellers are seeing a glimpse of hope at the far end of the tunnel. While rates had a slight uptick in the first week of the year, easing inflationary pressure and a soft economic outlook prompted many to believe that mortgage rates will decline in the next 12 months.

Good news! The Wall Street Journal reported that slowing inflation caused Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell to pivot away from raising interest rates and toward planning when rates might be lowered. The U.S. economic outlook has brightened in recent months because inflation and wage growth are slowing. Healed supply chain and an influx of workers to the labor force are curbing wage and price increases without causing broad economic weakness.
Plus! Barbara Corcoran’s takes on the real estate market. Spoiler Alert! When mortgage rates drop to around 6% prices will go up. If you’re waiting for prices to drop that may not be the best strategy. Check out the video and decide for yourself.

In 1971, the interest rate for a mortgage was 7.33%. If you waited for interest rates to go down, you wouldn’t have purchased a home until 1993. You would have rented for 22 years waiting for rates to go down, meanwhile the value of real estate quadrupled. Don’t wait to buy real estate. Buy real estate and wait. Marry the house, date the rate.

Today is the 402nd celebration of Thanksgiving. No national holiday is more unifying or has done more to birth a distinctive national identity than Thanksgiving Day. Regardless of sectarian differences or political creeds, Americans gather to feast as families, and to celebrate around the Thanksgiving table.
The debate over whether or not the Pilgrims established the first Thanksgiving celebration misses the point. They modeled for future generations the principle of days of thanksgiving and celebration, and today we look to the Pilgrim fathers and mothers as our inspiration.
May this holiday season bring you joy and laughter as you create new memories with your loved ones. Cherish the moments of being together and be thankful for those around you.
Veterans Day is a time for us to pay our respects to those who have served. For one day, we stand united in respect for you, our veterans.
Veteran’s Day began as a day to reflect upon the heroism of those who died in our country’s service and originally was called Armistice Day. It fell on November 11 because that is the anniversary of the Armistice that ended World War 1. However, in 1954, the holiday was changed to Veteran’s Day in order to account for all the Veterans of all wars.
We celebrate and honor America’s Veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.

Mortgage rates continue to hover around seven percent, as the dynamics of a once-hot housing market have faded considerably. Unsure buyers navigating an unpredictable landscape keep demand declining while other potential buyers remain sidelined from an affordability standpoint. The interest rate hike by the Federal Reserve will certainly inject additional lead into the heels of the housing market.
Real Estate News You Can Use! How’s the housing market in California right now? According to the California Association of Realtors, the monthly and annual home price growth accelerated in August. For the first time in five months California house sales also increased which was mainly due to a window of opportunity generated by a temporary decline in mortgage rates that created a little more favorable lending climate.
